Okay, so this is something that I’m super excited about.
For a while now I have been wanting to start growing and cooking with my own fruit and veg, and now I finally can! In association with Leeds Beckett University we are going to be bringing out a new web series on digging up, building, planting and successfully growing a veg garden!
What’s better, is whatever we grow we eat. Being a chef it really is my own little playground, so the plan is to put in a wood-burning oven and prep table to do recipe videos for you guys. We would even love to get some local chefs and businesses on to cook because what’s better than a veg garden and light entertainment…
Unfortunately, these projects require a little bit of work, so if you would like to get involved then you can help in any of these areas!
The allotment has been left alone for a while, so the first phase requires pulling everything up to start fresh. All we need is some people to come along in their wellies and muckers and lend a hand with a rake. We basically just put some music on and chat while digging stuff up. Pretty relaxing afternoon if you ask me! For updates on when we are headed to the garden make sure to like the project page and, of-course, the KnowHow Nutrition page, too.
Once we have the plot down to it’s bones we will need a hand in designing the new allotment! We have some ideas already, but your help will really bring it to life. We are looking for ideas on how to do this beautifully and cheaply as, although being a veg garden, the aim is for it to be really beautiful with fairy lights and gravel and shit.
If you want to join in, drop a message to email@example.com, leave a comment with your email below or send a message over the KnowHow Nutrition Facebook page.
So we have this beautiful plot of planters in place… But we have no vegetation! We need you to come along and share some tips and muddy fingers getting our produce on the go. Even if you have no experience at all and avidly want to learn, we can surely accommodate! Keep an eye on The Allotment Project Facebook page for when we are starting to plant and grow!
We now have a growing and established veg garden with a prep table and wood burning oven, and so begins the fun of cooking and eating it! If you are a business owner, chef, or avid veg lover then hop on over and help me cook! Being a chef and sociable moron I would love your help in coming up with recipes, or just cooking recipes with me, all to be filmed and shared with our adoring community! Drop a message to me by any means in the Contact Me section of the page to get involved once we start cooking!
We have a public Facebook group over at The Allotment Project | LBSU and KnowHow Nutrition so make sure to click join and keep updated on when we are headed over, what we will be doing and what we are going to be doing next!
